Week 5
In preproduction stage, we had to split from a group of 6. We decided to split into 3 people for each group but I found another person which gave us a fourth person. Greg worked in video production so he had experience and was a big asset to our team. Everyone seemed to work well together and brought their talents to the table. I felt very fortunate and proud to work with these individuals. I wrote another script from the script we had originally decided on to make our group focus on identity threats instead of children online threats which we decided on with the first group. Once I wrote the script, Linda tested the time on the script and since I left it wordy to cut back if needed to, it worked out well. Kathy liked the flow and direction of the script but also realized it would need editing before we were done. Greg felt it needed a more catchy beginning and maybe needed to include the “don’ts” and leaving the do’s out. I made some changes and tried a catchier introduction using statistics and I left the dos out and pointed them to a website for more information. At this point, it has lead us to the production phase. It was time to shoot the video and make final changes to the script if needed to. Gregg was in charge of the footage and he did continually assess the shot list to make sure he had enough footage. He included a variety shots, including an established shot, closing shot, and both wide and tight shots.

Week3
This week we participated in a web conference to ask question where we have concern. The max group project was made of no more than 5 people. Our group was introduced to several online collaborate software to use to share thought and ideas. Our group created a wiki as well as used tokbok to collaborate. Our assignment was to write a project proposal including a script online and narrative script. As a team will meet to brainstorm the type of video shot we will consider. We will create a shot list and identify any additional asset, such as audio, images, interviews of our video. We must also be looking to copyright citation and fair use guidelines of anything visual or audio assets. Many questions were answered during the web conference making things clearer. Several people were needing to be a part of a group and that was also accomplished.

WebConferencing Experience
Web conferencing in our class allows to me network with other people. Although our main purpose is to get information about our assignment and clear up anything we don’t understand. We also get the opportunity to meet others in the class. Since our class is strictly an online classes the only opportunity we get to meet with our professor face to face are through the web conferences. The great bonuses of our web conference sessions are that they bring real time components to our hands and allow us to share with people at our conference. The only downside is that web conference meetings don’t always go smoothly and there is a limit on how many people can connect. All in all, with the network we build through our classes, even the disadvantage isn’t a problem because others who are able to attend fill us in and also the scripts from the conference get posted, so we don’t miss much.
